WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO?

You don’t need to have a theatre background to get involved. If you enjoy DIY, sewing, tinkering with tech, or simply staying organised, we have a role for you. We provide peer training, mentorship and a supportive environment to help you learn new crafts. See the different departments below and the email addresses to you can contact and get involved once you are a member.

Our Box Office volunteers sell tickets to audience members in person before a performance, as well as taking phone and postal bookings at lunchtimes. We use a computerised ticketing system, and offer training to volunteers who are comfortable and experienced using computers. The time commitment is just 2-3 hours a week, either lunchtime or evening.

Our friendly Front of House team show audience members to their seats and help them out with any difficulties. You can volunteer to help with any of our shows.

Each of our in-house shows is captioned by a Community Captioning volunteer. They get to know the production, create the file and then output the captions live during one performance. The captions are displayed on a LED screen near the stage. Full training is provided to volunteers.

Each production has a set designer and a team of constructors and painters to bring the vision to life. Everyone is welcome, from experienced designers to enthusiastic painters.

We run a programme of New Writing events called QExtra. There are opportunities to showcase new writing and participate in work in progress sessions, open mics and more.

Our members club, The Grapevine Bar, is the social heart of our theatre. Volunteer to work behind the bar and get to know your fellow members in a fun environment. Training is provided.

We are always looking for more experienced theatre technicians to join our lighting and sound teams. If you don’t have experience but are keen to learn, our volunteers can provide training and help you build up your skills.

Our Photography team are responsible for capturing our productions and providing images for publicity. Skilled photographers and videographers with their own equipment are in great demand. However, enthusiastic volunteers who are happy to learn are also very welcome to get involved.

Our productions couldn’t run smoothly without a backstage team of volunteers, running rehearsals, sourcing props, cueing lighting and sound, moving scenery and more. All volunteers welcome.

We have an extensive store of costumes from our productions throughout the years. Our talented Wardrobe team make and source costumes for every production. They also manage hiring out costumes to external companies. Sewing sessions are often held for volunteers to get involved.

The Member FAQ

Season Pass and Club Membership are different. With a Season Pass, you get discounts on show tickets, whilst Club Membership is needed to take part in productions. Many people opt to have both but the choice is yours.

You can audition to be an acting member of Questors before you join as a member, and only choose to join as a member if you pass the acting audition. You cannot audition for a part in a Questors production unless you are a member and have passed the acting audition to become an acting member.

Membership does not grant any discounts on tickets because a financial benefit of that nature would make the subscription ineligible for gift aid. However, many members also buy a Season Pass, which gives significant financial savings for those who attend our shows regularly.

You don’t need any prior skills or experience to join as a member, all adults over 18 are welcome. You can build up your skills and experience by volunteering with us and we also offer training courses. If you wish to act in one of our productions, you will need enough acting experience to pass our acting audition. But if you have a passion for theatre, don’t let a lack of experience stop you getting involved.
