Our fun and friendly course introduces you to the world of acting in a supportive atmosphere. Suitable for adults who are complete beginners, rebuilding their confidence after a break or wanting to progress their acting journey.

About the course

Our Acting For All Course (AFA) is a Saturday evening course for adults and is open to all.  The course is split into three terms. These can be booked and taken as individual blocks, any order, making it easy to fit around your life.

Who is it for?

The course is available to everyone aged 18 and over, there is no audition and you don’t need any previous experience. You can simply book online – no application process.

WHAT WILL THE COURSE COVER?

Acting for All (AFA) is comprised of three terms, which can be taken in any order, and cover Acting Skills, Performance Technique and Audition Technique. See below for more details.

Focuses on acting skills including:

  • The voice, vocal techniques & identity
  • Exploring improvisation and characterisation
  • Movement, physical storytelling and its place in theatre

Working on performance techniques including:

  • Introduction to Epic & Naturalistic theatre
  • Exploring Accents & Dialects
  • Voice Acting for Audio Drama
  • Scene Studies (taking scenes from productions and working them through)
  • Character development through movement

A guide to audition technique through Classic & Modern text work with the opportunity to:

  • Audition for our 1 year Foundation Acting course
  • Audition to become an acting member at The Questors Theatre
  • Use learnt skills to progress onto other external courses in the Arts

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER THIS COURSE?

AFA will enable you to go on and pursue a higher level of performance art or confidently try out for that part you’ve always wanted. The sky is the limit.
