The Questors Theatre welcomes Ealing Council’s ambition to bring more theatre to the borough.
We are therefore engaging constructively with both the Council and Troubadour Theatres to better understand the current proposal by Troubadour to locate a temporary theatre in Walpole Park for three years.
The Board of The Questors Theatre has not taken a position for or against the proposal and any suggestion that The Questors supports or opposes it is inaccurate.
Our Board will decide its position once it understands more of the details, particularly in relation to construction, servicing, noise, access and parking, as well as the environmental and social impacts on Walpole Park. In addition, what a temporary theatre of the scale being proposed would mean for the borough and for Ealing’s wider cultural offer, including here at The Questors Theatre.
This we expect to be able to do if a planning application is prepared and submitted to the Council.
Meanwhile, as a member-led organisation, we will keep our members, audiences and other users of The Questors Theatre informed of our thinking and to that end have published this statement on our website and issued it to various parties.
