By Rachel Knightly and David Hovatter

Two plays about two very different women and their experiences of life

Real by Rachel Knightley

Alice lives in a tiny flat with an imaginary friend. Her boyfriend wants to take her away and start life afresh. Her sister wants her exactly where she is. Will Alice choose real friends over her imaginary ones? And what makes a friend – or relationship – real?

Erma by David Hovatter

Erma Bombeck was an American woman who found her voice in the 1960s and 70s with a newspaper column. She wrote humorous articles about the unequal dynamics of traditional gender roles from the perspective of a suburban housewife and was a best-selling author and producer of her own TV sitcom Maggie. This is her story.

This is a free event on the 15th July - just turn up on the door. Starts at 7:45pm. Please note that there will be a collection for QRenew at the end of the performance.
