Joke teller and landlord John is forced do what he said he never would - sell up to a national brewery chain. And odd job man Mark does what he can for work whilst grieving over the tragic death of a girl he liked at school.
Behind the back of The White Horse Inn, in a village in Hampshire, they drink and chat and joke – about a ferret that can perform miracles for single men; that smoking is really all about sex; and the true value of being an alcoholic is that you can at least put your finger on exactly what your problem is.
