“Our mums and dads wanted the peace and quiet of their beige lives - and we wanted noise!”
Just below the ABC Teashop opposite Ealing Broadway tube, a revolution is taking place. Out of the cold, grey winter of 1962 comes the wild amplification of electric guitars and Chicago heat. Five young people make their way down a set of dark, narrow steps into the Ealing Club, an escape from their beige lives - the birthplace of British Blues.
The space race is on. The USA moves on Cuba. The world seems trigger happy. And the roar of John Lee Hooker beckons.
A tale of bending notes, falling in love and almost being there for the
birth of The Rolling Stones. Written by Julian Smith, in collaboration
with the Ealing Club, the team behind
Suburban Steps to Rockland. This world premiere is part of the 60 year anniversary of The Rolling
Stones first gig.
