The Questors Theatre PresentLoveplay
by Moira Buffini From Roman courting to online dating
Loveplay – sometimes funny, sometimes tragic – is set in one location but spans 2,000 years from Roman times to present day. Seductions and sexual encounters take us through ten scenes where people come together, sometimes willingly, sometimes not, in the ongoing search for physical pleasure.
"An intriguing and engaging production, presented by a versatile cast. " **** - LondonTheatre1
This captivating production transports you Roman Britain, through Saxon times
before entering a Medieval convent where nuns argue over the ideas of
love. We witness Renaissance actors confusing reality with the play they
are rehearsing, cringe in sympathy with 1960s would-be swingers and end
up in a modern day dating agency where the manager is losing control of
her own love life.
“Buffini's delightfully quirky, funny and touching Loveplay, a hit if I ever saw one.” - The Daily Telegraph on Loveplay in the RSC
Performed by The Questors Student Group, marking 75 years since the course was founded.
