Using props and costume as our starting point, via games, group activities and individual acting challenges, we will work to create an entirely new play based on the group’s ideas for characters and stories.

The play will be called Spotlight. It follows a new child who has just joined the school and is nervous when, during the opening scene in the assembly hall, the students are told there will be a “Spotlight Talent Show” to raise money for a new school project.

Throughout the show, a panel of exaggerated and comedic judges adds humour and energy as they prepare to evaluate the performances at the talent show. By the final scene, the new child realises that talent can take many forms and, with the support of their new friends, joins the group performance where everyone showcases what they have learned.

A performance for an invited audience of friends and family will take place at 2:30pm on the final day. More information will be provided during the week.
