Acting & Improvisation Workshop
Presenter - Ant Griffith
Hi, I’m Ant Griffith.
After graduating the Questor's Advanced Performance course and Foundations of Acting at Mountview Drama School, I studied improvisation at The Free Association, Hoopla and The Maydays under Suki Webster, Josie Lawrence and Katy Schutte. I am the founder and tutor of the Questors house improv team, ‘The Slack Captains’.
Are you excited, sceptical or unsure about the role of Improv in scripted plays?
For actors: don’t miss out on this Improv workshop. We’ll have fun performing light-hearted but useful exercises, and learn a few simple ‘rules’ to find help you ‘be in the moment’, liberate your creativity, and build more confidence for auditioning and performing.
For directors: let’s explore how we can use improvisation to help your actors build characters, relationships, and fully understand the role of their characters in scenes, particularly when they are still script in hand.
As implied, this workshop is mostly suited to actors, directors, and anyone interested in Improvising. Oh and do try to catch The Slack Captains improvise a play in a ‘La Ronde’ format, in a location suggested by the audience, on Friday evening!
