In the depths of the 1930's, Annie, a fiery young orphan girl, lives in a miserable orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. Her seemingly hopeless situation changes dramatically when she is selected to spend a short time at the residence of the wealthy industrialist, Oliver Warbucks.
This production by The Brit Youth Theatre was rehearsed at an after school club, with the performers ranging in age from 6 to 11 (aside from Daddy Warbucks). Schools involved are Saint Gregory’s, Derwentwater and Mount Carmel.
